Cambodia has been a Party to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) since February 13, 2006. The Law on Tobacco Control, enacted in 2015, is its primary tobacco control legislation. A Sub-Decree on the Establishment and Functioning of the Committee for Tobacco Control was passed in 2017 which incorporated principles of Article 5.3. While the government does not accept offers of assistance from the tobacco industry nor endorse any policies drafted by the industry, not invite the industry to sit at meetings which decide on policy, the government must remain vigilant and improve implementation of measures protecting against tobacco industry interference.
